Who We Are
After starting a career in Mechanical Engineering designing aircraft components Vince changed direction and obtained a Bachelors degree in Fine Art. Vince is at his best combining the science with the art. With this pursuit in mind he completed his studies in Architecture at UBC.
Vince’s designs embody a functional elegance. He is fascinated with creating places and spaces that meld with the topography of the Pacific Northwest.
With a passion for drawing Margot funded her University studies in Art, Art History and Architecture working as a model builder and draftsman for Arthur Erickson Architects and in her father’s firm Roger Kemble Architects in Vancouver.
Now, living and working on Gabriola Island Margot gets passionate about designing homes that respond to the natural attributes of Island properties. Assimilating the unique characteristics of the site with the Home Owners’ requirements she designs buildings that are as individual as the dreams that inspired them.
Genevieve’s lifelong curiousity of all things pertaining to ‘home’ led her to complete a Degree in Architecture at the University of Manitoba, and subsequently her career on the West Coast.
Her love for building and design challenges her to create spaces that both delight and support the inhabitant; spaces that are‘alive’ in their connection to our specific environment; and buildings that look to the increased use of green technologies.
Dave has been with Architrave Design Build since 2000. His first project was to build a daycare in five modules that was trucked and barged to Klemtu, a remote First Nations community along The Inside Passage, and reassembled on site. Dave’s forward-looking nature and thoughtful craftsmanship has been instrumental in creating our reputation for excellence in quality of workmanship.
Paul has a natural talent for building. Leading his first project in 1998, a unique and fairly complex Architrave home, no one knew it was his first. Paul takes great pride in his work, evident from his foundations to finishing details. His abilities as both exceptional manager and detailed craftsman have contributed to our reputation for excellence in quality of workmanship.
Rob has been with Architrave since 2002. Loving a challenge, he can figure anything out: from transporting building materials and trades to a remote island, to constructing a timber frame building with rain water collection and solar energy. His problem solving nature and high caliber of craftsmanship is what gives Architrave a reputation for excellence in quality of workmanship.
