Journey’s End
With a combination of craftsman and traditional features, this oceanfront gem equals contemporary elegance. Our clients’ desire for a simple building form with a leading edge style and appearance was satisfied with a combination of minimalist design and character details.
The floor plan opens with the heated concrete slab, poured at grade, to create a seamless flow to the outside living space. Three sets of French doors bring the outdoors in, connecting the many natural interior elements of wood and stone. Minimal use of timber framing balance the flow throughout.
The timber and glass canopy over the front entry is complimented indoors by a stunning but simple steel, glass and timber staircase. The south facing wall of glass brings a natural glow of light to the open environs of the living and dining areas. The natural elements continue outside with the use of shingles and a vertical batten-on-board that contrast beautifully with the cedar soffits.
