Nanoose office gets a face “lift” and energy retrofit
June 28, 2024You might have been driving on Highway 19 recently and noticed some tall changes at Architraves’ Nanoose office. It’s in the process of an exciting transformation!
Originally built around 1900 its doors were first opened to the community as the Patteson General Store and Post office. Oozing with history, memories, and character, this is a special project combining preservation, renovation and sustainability. The uniqueness and charm of the building is a priority for us to preserve and the goal is for this gem to become the oldest, wood framed passive house in Canada!
The original structure was lifted with care and precision and a new foundation was laid. A whole new building envelope was implemented, and with the exterior insulation, heat pumps and solar panels low energy consumption will be achieved.
